Malatya is a feature-length documentary about the first martyrs of the Turkish Church. "Stunned after viewing Malatya, the story of the first martyrs of the modern Turkish Church" --Max Lucado
On April 18, 2007 three men were tortured and killed inside a
Bible distribution office in Malatya, Turkey. The three were leaders in the small church of Malatya and their killers were five teenagers, each carrying a note that read, "We did this for our country. They were attacking our religion."
The murders sent shock waves throughout Turkey, especially among the tiny Christian population, who are a mere three thousand among millions who unfortunately believe they wish to overthrow the Turkish way of life. Malatya reveals the character of the martyrs, the greater struggles that led to their deaths, and how their spiritual family has remained faithful amidst the furnace. Two of the three are the first known modern Turkish converts from Islam to Christianity to be killed for their faith
The hope of the film makers is to unite Christians around the world with the Turkish church in partnership and prayer, that the Turks may know the love of Jesus Christ.
